How We Feel About Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Your Wellness Inc wants to spread our message of hope and compassion. We believe that a single action can make a difference in the community and that collective action can greatly impact the world. We understand that racial equity is essential to the success of our organization and the individuals we serve and work with. Providing an equitable and inclusive environment for all is a core value to our mission and will strengthen our vision. Diversity in the workplace and at all of our events further enhances our efforts.

Our Vision

We strive to decrease suicidal ideation in the youths and adults of our community by implementing evidence-based programs and practices within the school districts and faith communities of the Hampton Roads region. We address causes that may lead to suicide with a focus on domestic abuse, bullying, mental illness, substance abuse, and trauma/loss. Through a holistic approach, they will transition from living with suicidal ideation to having peace within themselves. We are confident that Your Wellness Inc, along with our team of expert peers and community partners, will enrich the lives of individuals who have lost hope.

Our Mission

To decrease the number of suicide and opioid deaths in youth and adults of all ages, we utilize our expertise and resources to further our cause. We help these individuals practice healthy and safe lifestyles through the development of wellness plans, cognitive behavioral group therapy sessions, mental health ministry, art/music therapy, skill-building classes, relapse prevention training, and total fitness. Since 2019, we’ve been supporting our community members in a variety of ways. We measure our success not by monetary size, but by qualitative measurements, such as the scale and effectiveness of our efforts. Imagine what we can achieve together!

We wish to meet the real needs of individuals who are contemplating suicide or living with:

  • a mental illness/developmental disorder

  • substance abuse disorder

  • homelessness

  • ex-offenders seeking re-entry

  • trauma/loss

  • incest /sexual abuse (anonymity observed)

  • HIV/AIDS

  • bullying

  • sickle cell disease

  • poor housing conditions

  • disabled elderly folks in need of resource connections
